The most important step to secure a global green future is to ensure that the Global South has the necessary means, at an affordable cost, to implement the investments necessary for the green transition.

Hans Peter Lankes is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (Grantham Research Institute), and a Senior Fellow at ODI and the LSE/Oxford International Growth Centre. He is a member of the G20 panel on MDB capital adequacy, co-chair of the India Think20 task force on reforming global finance, and serves on the investment committee of ILX, an impact fund. His research focuses on climate and development finance, MDB reform and sustainable growth. Until 2021, Hans Peter was Vice President of Economics and Private Sector Development at IFC/World Bank, having previously served in various management roles at the EBRD and the IMF. Hans Peter obtained his PhD from Harvard University, and degrees from Harvard Kennedy School, Freiburg University and Grenoble University.
