Heberto Barrios Castillo is a highly experienced Mexican Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He has held key positions in the public sector, including as Responsible Official for the Attention of the Affairs of the Undersecretariat of Planning and Energy Transition since August 2020. He has also worked as Minister’s Advisor Chief at the Mexican Ministry of Energy, Energy Advisor in the Mexican Senate of the Republic and the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, as well as Project Supervisor and Advisor to the Director Generalof the Electricity Savings Trust (FIDE). He has published over 30 research papers and has given more than 50 training courses and conferences on the consequences of the 2012-2014 Mexican Energy Reform. He is also a former Physics and Mathematics Professor at the Sciences and Humanities College of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
