The most important step in my opinion is exerting expanded efforts to mobilize public and private finance in addition to de-risk clean energy investments.
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohina has over 30 years of experience in the Egyptian Electricity and Renewable Energy Sector. He is currently First Undersecretary for Research, Planning and Authorities’ Follow up. He has held senior positions such as Undersecretary for Authorities’ Follow up, General Manager for Technical Follow Up and General Manager for Minister’s Technical Office. He participated in several national committees for the preparation of strategies, policies and legislation, such as Egypt’s strategy for sustainable development 2030, The Egyptian integrated sustainable energy strategy for 2035, and preparation of Egyptian Electricity Law and the incentives for renewable energy investment Law. He has wide responsibilities include overview the whole sector requirements and performance, Power system expansion plans and the required adjustments, investments for the projects implementation, coordination with international financing institutions, cooperation with other countries, etc.
