Cecilia Andersson
Lead of Urban Mobility, Urban Basic Services Section, UN-Habitat"Global figures show that nearly 30 percent of energy consumption is due to transportation. We need to avoid the need to travel, shift to more environmentally friendly modes of transport and improve energy efficiency through use of innovative and energy saving technology and the promotion of renewable energy. Promoting more compact cities as well as investing in connectivity, walking and cycling infrastructure will lead to improved urban resilience, better air quality, fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and more livable cities which everyone can enjoy!"
