Amisha Patel Director of Public Affairs Offshore Wind, Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA)
"In the current climate crisis, there is an urgent need to escalate our efforts in mitigation, and offshore wind energy is as a pivotal tool in this monumental shift. To deliver the tripling renewables target agreed at COP28, collaboration must build on past achievements to catalyse the offshore wind market while tackling obstacles head-on. Embracing offshore wind deployment offers a crucial avenue to drive the necessary transformation in alignment with the Paris Agreement."
Amisha has joined GWEC on secondment, as of April 2023 to lead the growth and advance the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA) which was co-founded by the Government of Denmark, IRENA and GWEC and launched at COP 27. Amisha has been seconded from Mainstream Renewable Power, where she is Group Global Head of Public Affairs and Policy and strategically guides and oversees the companies positioning, management of regulatory risk and leads engagement with governments globally. Prior to joining Mainstream, she was leading public affairs, stakeholder engagement and communications for Californian Headquartered Principle Power – the world leader in floating offshore wind technology. Amisha has worked in the energy and marine renewables space globally for over 20 years.
